Psychotherapy
When someone is suffering from depression because of a traumatic period it will affect they way that they work, their social life, and also the way that they interact with their family. Psychotherapy uses several different techniques that will help to treat this depression. This depression treatment may last for 2-3 weeks or longer. The main practice for this technique is the use of counseling. It is the counseling of the person that is affected along with the family.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
This therapy treats anxiety depression and other mental illnesses. This treatment is based on how people think because they are more prone to having negative thoughts. They feel that they are going to fail in anything they do. The job of the therapist is to change this attitude and to give them a more positive thought process. People who work hard with this process are less likely to relapse.
Interpersonal Therapy
This treatment is usually only 15 – 20 sessions. Each of these sessions will last for an hour. The goal of this treatment is to find the main cause of the depression. This will help the person to cope with what happened and to move beyond it.
Others Psychotherapy Treatment
Group therapy and psychodynamic therapy are treatments that help those who were traumatized when they were children. The therapy is short term – but very effective. The treatment uses a group of people with the same problem and brings them together in a safe environment. Together they can share their problem, how it affected them, and help each other to cope with it.
