Protect Your Body With Coconut Oil
Are you one of the millions of people who is tired living their lives overweight and out of shape? Many of us are always thinking about starting a new diet that will help us to lose weight quickly and effectively. Finding one like this is not an easy task – but it is possible. Perhaps we would have an easier time if we looked for a diet that would not only help us to lose weight – but also would help to make our bodies healthier and stronger on the inside. One of the things that can help us to reach this goal is to take advantage of the many positives of virgin coconut oil.
During the end of the 19th century many people were using extra virgin coconut oil in many of the meals that they cooked. Some people even put together a special cookbook that showed you how to cook with it and what meals it went great with. It was the main type of oil that we used until something changed. Read more »
Health Benefits Of Drinking Green Tea
How much caffeine, sugar, and fat are you consuming a day just so you can stay awake? A few months ago I would drink one to two Mountain Dews a day and a couple of energy drinks. I love the taste of them and they gave me the energy I needed. That was until I realized how I was mistreating my body.
But how many of us really do this? One of the worst things that we could do to ourselves is drink the wrong thing every morning. In order to stay awake throughout the day we rely on coffee and sodas to give us that jolt of energy. But are these things really healthy for us? It is true that they can give us energy – but what health benefits do they offer?
Coffee has been known to have very few health benefits that do not always make a big difference in our lives. Soda is one of the worst things you could drink because of all the caffeine, sugar, and fat that it contains. Why not replace this with a healthy alternative – green tea.
Green tea has been studied for years and many health experts believe that not while it does contain a certain amount of caffeine it is able to offer us health benefits far outweighing those of soda and coffee. Read more »
Choose Fat Free Ice Cream
Ok all you dieters I have a bit of information that you might find useful. There are certain foods that are high in fat as well as calories and will make us pack on the pounds faster than we were to eat them. One of the worst of these foods is ice cream.
Ice cream is made with heavy cream – which is full of saturated fat. Many of the premium brand of ice creams that we can’t get enough of taste mouth watering – but they contain over 10 grams of saturated fat for every 300kcal per half cup. We should try to stay away from this type of fat – but if we do eat it than it should be no more than 2 – 3 grams a day. Read more »
Tasty Healthy Snacks
The hardest part about dieting is resisting the urge to eat the snack foods that we love. These foods are delicious – but they are loaded with fat and calories that pack on the pounds.
The good thing is there are substitutes that can make things just a little bit easier on us. When you head down the snack aisle at your grocery store the first thing that catches your eye are the chocolate chip cookies and crackers. Keep going down and you will run into the healthy snacks that taste just as good if not better.
You can find almost every flavor of 100 calorie packs. They come in sweet and salty snacks that taste just like the real thing. But be careful! If you are on a strict diet than they are not going to be the best thing you can have.
I have found that the best thing to have are the Quaker rice snacks. The first thing that pops into your head when you hear that are the large rice cakes with no flavor. But what I am talking about are similar but so much better.
These small cakes come in caramel, chocolate, ranch, and cheese flavors. They are very healthy and taste great. I am a cheese fanatic so going without any can be hard. But the Quaker rice cheese snacks are just like the real thing and they are healthy.
So next time you feel like reaching for that 250 calorie chocolate bar reach out instead for the 70 or 100 calories chocolate snack. Who said you can’t enjoy a diet?
The Coconut Diet
The coconut diet is the newest fad in weight loss. So much so that even the celebrities have taken a liking to it and have begun to follow it religiously.
So what is the coconut diet? Coconut oil might be rich in saturates – but it helps to boost the bodies’ metabolism thanks to the triglycerides that it contains. Triglycerides burn faster and thus help with people trying to lose weight. It also helps to improve thyroid function.
The coconut diet is similar to the Atkins diet except that you will add 2-3tbps. Of coconut oil to your diet every day. There are four phases to this diet. The first phase is the most strictest part and requires that you stay completely away from carbs for three weeks. You are only allowed to eat foods that are rich in protein like chicken, fish, and veggies, eggs, cheese, and nuts. You will also need to drink 10 glasses a day.
The second phase is referred to as the cleansing phase. This 4 week period will help you to detoxify your body. Many people don’t like this phase because you will have to drink concoctions like water that has lemon juice and olive oil.
The third phase is the time when you get to bring back carbs. The fourth brings them back even more.
It is a fairly easy diet to follow as long as you don’t mind saying goodbye to some of your favorite foods.
